W H Sawyer & Company, Inc is a second-generation, women-led general contracting firm serving LA County. Founded in 1988 by Wendell H. Sawyer and now led by his daughter, Dominique R. Sawyer, we blend 35 years of licensed construction experience with more than 40 years of multi-family property management insight.
Our mission is to uphold a legacy of craftsmanship, compliance, and integrity — building with the precision and care that defines our family name.
Wendell H. Sawyer earned his General Contractor’s license in 1988, after years of experience as a real estate broker, investor, and property manager. Over the next three decades, he led dozens of residential remodels, multi-family rehabilitations, and ground-up projects that shaped Los Angeles neighborhoods.
In 2017, the firm was restructured and is now led by his daughter, Dominique R. Sawyer, who carries forward her father’s reputation for quality and compliance while modernizing the company for today’s construction landscape.

Dominique R. Sawyer
President & CEO
Dominique R. Sawyer is the second-generation owner and current leader of W H Sawyer & Company Inc, responsible for guiding the company’s strategic direction, operations, and client relationships.
With hands-on experience in residential construction, ADU development, and multi-family rehabilitation, Dominique oversees all phases of project management from permitting and compliance to budgeting and quality assurance. Her multidisciplinary background in real estate and asset management allows her to align each project’s delivery with the long-term goals of property owners and investors.
Dominique assumed leadership of the company following the passing of her father and founder, Wendell H. Sawyer. Today, she continues his legacy of craftsmanship and community building while bringing a modern, client-focused approach to construction and property improvement across Los Angeles.
A proud graduate of the USC Minority Program in Real Estate (2015), Dominique was nominated for the NAWBO-OC 2025 Remarkable Woman Award. Her leadership reflects both continuity and innovation — honoring her father’s legacy while redefining what it means to be a women-led general contracting firm in today’s industry.
